London 2012

My initial grumpiness is waning as my commute to work actually becomes easier now that the games have started. Why this should be I have little idea, but perhaps Londoners have departed the capital en masse in order to avoid the games, thus leaving the routes clear for grafters like me. It is busy, don't get me wrong, with Stratford in particular a seething mass of humanity, but it's not as bad as all the whinging pudits had predicted. And as a bonus, Boris got stuck on a zip-wire yesterday. And as an ever bigger bonus, I managed to jam one of those delegation tickets that got released to the general public - I'm going swimming tomorrow. Not sure what lane I'm in, but I'll let you know. I've also managed to get a pile of tickets for the Paralympics, so we're all off to watch various 7-a-side football matches and some athletics a bit later on. Because of the short notice, I had to go and pick the tickets up myself, so had a bit of a wander around Stratford while I was at it. This afternoon I'm actually going to have a wander in the Olympic Park, which should be fun. Particularly as I'm going to wear my Mastercard T-shirt and Burger King cap.
