Another day, another dawn. Another failed attempt at Little Owl. The sun at least did have the good grace to rise in a cloudless sky, and so I amused myself with that for a little while, as well with really quite a tame Fox that at one point tried to eat my monopod. If I can get it accustomed to me then I might be able to get some quite nice images in the early mornings. Always good to have a project to work on.

Foxed again

Lovely photos. And what is that vintage piece of metalwork??
ReplyDeleteThat, Mr H, is history. They are barrage balloon hitches from WWII, from when Wanstead Flats had a POW camp and various other war type things. There are four of them I think. Sometimes Wheatears perch on them, which is an excellent re-use of redundant ironwork. This morning I had to remove two plastic bags of rubbish from it to take the photo, which is less excellent.
DeleteNice. Thanks. I like interesting little curios of that kind. It's great to see them just left in position to give you a glimpse into the past like that...
DeleteWhere were all those people? Beautiful .
ReplyDeleteCheers Graham. The resident Owl photographer was in position at 4.50am, but apart from him there was nobody until about 5.30!
DeleteI had the same idea on Saturday morning except mine were a little younger. Lovely shots of the adult.
